[4:10]  1 sn A quotation from Ps 91:11 by the devil. This was not so much an incorrect citation as a use in a wrong context (a misapplication of the passage).

[17:23]  2 tn Grk “And they will say.” The plural in Greek is indefinite, referring to people in general. Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the narrative.

[17:23]  3 tn The words “he is” here and in the following clause are understood and have been supplied from the context.

[17:23]  4 sn Do not go out or chase after them. There will be no need to search for the Son of Man at his coming, though many will falsely claim its arrival.

[17:27]  5 tn Grk “They.” The plural in Greek is indefinite, referring to people in general.

[17:27]  6 tn These verbs (“eating… drinking… marrying… being given in marriage”) are all progressive imperfects, describing action in progress at that time.

[17:27]  7 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the narrative.

[17:27]  8 sn Like that flood came and destroyed them all, the coming judgment associated with the Son of Man will condemn many.

[19:3]  9 tn Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.

[19:3]  10 tn Grk “He was trying to see who Jesus was.”

[19:3]  11 tn Grk “and he was not able to because of the crowd, for he was short in stature.”

[22:50]  12 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the narrative.

[22:50]  13 sn One of them. The unnamed disciple is Peter according to John 18:10 (cf. also Matt 26:51; Mark 14:47).

[22:50]  14 tn See the note on the word “slave” in 7:2.
